Case study

Barari براري

An Arabic-first marketplace for discovering and booking hiking and outdoor experiences in Jordan, with verified organizers, as a native app and a web marketplace.

Our own product, designed and built from the first migration to the store listing. Early access; gobarari.com.

The problem

Hikers in Jordan compare half-written Instagram posts, message several organizers, transfer money by hand and lose their photos in expiring links. Organizers answer the same questions every week, check transfer screenshots, keep attendee lists in chats and reconcile payouts in spreadsheets.

Reviews cannot be trusted because anyone can write one, and nothing records who was actually on the trail.

What we built

One bilingual product for both sides of the market. Hikers get standardized listings they can compare, verified organizer profiles, booking with tickets and QR check-in, private albums that only attendees can open, and reviews only from people who were there. Organizers get an agenda, a trail editor, departures with pickup points and prices, rosters, waitlists with timed offers and a browser check-in that scans the same tickets as the app.

The data model enforces the rules: capacity is held and released by the database, album access is granted by recorded attendance, and every financial record is append-only in exact minor units. Row-level security applies to every exposed table.
